Nyayratna ignited light of education

Mahesh Chandra Nyayaratna

  • On 22nd february,in the year of 1836, Our school founder Shri Mahesh chandra Nyayaratna was born as a son of Harinarayan Tarka Siddhanta and Sundari devi at Narit,
    It was found that he was the 13th generation of well known analyst of Shrimath Bhagbath,Shridhar Goswami.
    • Mahesh chandra became Principal of Sanskrit College in 1876.
    • Mahesh Chandra Nyayaratna was made Companion of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire(C.I.E.) on 24th May 1881 and the estimation with which Indian Scholars held him is marked by the title of 'Nyayratna'.
  • The title "Mohamohopaddhya"(মহামহপাধ্যায়) was conferred as personal distinction on 16th February in 1887,on the occasion of the jubilee of the reign of Queen Victoria, for eminence in oriental learning.it entitled him to take rank in Durbar immediately after titular Rajas.
  • And in the year of 1885,he established Narit Nyayaratna High School(english),which is now our Narit Nyayaratna Institutiton. 
  • Nyayaratna Lane in Shyambajar is named after him.
